Hello! Aloha! Hola! Ciao!

I’m Sara Williams (née Khwaja), a west coast Creative Director and visual storyteller.

I’m a Creative Director and brand storyteller with a passion for purpose-driven work and over 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams and building strategic, multi-channel campaigns and brand identities. My work spans digital, print, OOH, CPG, photo, video, experiential, social media, and content. I approach creative with a mix of experience, intuition, and informed strategy.

Currently, I lead the creative team at Thrive Market, a membership-based e-commerce brand on a mission to end food inequality and make healthy living accessible and sustainable for everyone. From campaigns focused on food access to celebrity product launches and member storytelling, I bring strategy and soul to every project—connecting with consumers in ways that feel fresh, authentic, and impactful.

My path began in fashion, with degrees from Parsons and FIDM, followed by further studies in Art History and Graphic Design at Loyola Marymount, with a focus on design for social impact and justice. That foundation, paired with two decades of hands-on experience gives me a comprehensive view of the creative process—and a deep respect for design that not only looks good, but does good. I thrive on collaboration, bold ideas, and mentoring up-and-coming creatives.

Outside of work, I’m a mom of two, an avid traveler, and a lover of the arts—usually taking photos, making art, seeing live music, or relaxing at the beach. I also value volunteerism and have contributed to projects like The Seeds of Vandana Shiva and developed arts-based curriculum for Free Arts, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through creativity.
